Schedule:
  • 2:30p.m.-11:00p.m.
  • Part time, working 40 hours per pay period (2 Weeks)
  • Works every other Saturday and Sunday

Position Summary:

The Evening Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the operation of nursing stations, including management of resident care and assigned staff. The Evening Nurse Supervisor will ensure that services are provided with a resident care focus, in accordance with the nursing process, current standards of practice, and state and federal regulations. Additionally, all services are provided in accordance with the mission of Guardian Angels.

Job Duties:
  • Provides direct and indirect supervision of assigned staff. Responsible for hiring as needed, personnel issues, staff reviews and coaching and development.
  • Provides on-call coverage for nursing staff in rotation with other Nurse Unit Managers, Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing.
  • Position may require extra hours, including weekends and occasional evenings
  • Responsible for planning, organizing and directing resident-centered, quality driven care on assigned nursing stations.
  • Conducts resident assessments, gathers data for completion of resident assessments including the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and plan of care.
  • To assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of care and services delivered to the clients on the assigned unit
  • Rounds with staff to gain input into unit and client needs.
  • Provides support and direction as an available resource Nurse for the staff, eg; in the event of an emergency/change in condition/high risk incidents.
  • Working supervisor to support the Admissions Processes, orders and initial care plans.
  • Education and training of staff.
  • Performs Audits on routine basis or as needed.
  • Covid-19 testing/rapid antigen testing and contact tracing.
  • Conducts Pain assessments
  • Assists staff on floor when needed.
  • Follows universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
  • All duties will be performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines, state and federal regulations.
  • Uphold confidential information as required by Guardian Angels policy and procedure and as related to HIPPA.

Qualifications:
  • Five years prior RN experience preferred with at least one year in geriatrics.
  • Three to five years prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota; license is unrestricted.
  • Current CPR certification is required
  • Willingness to work with other disciplines in coordinating and monitoring resident services and activities directed toward achieving the highest practicable level of physical, mental, psychosocial, and spiritual health of our residents.
  • Ability to develop/lead nursing team.
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively as situation dictates.
  • Ability to varying working hours to meet needs of assigned unit.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, ability to prioritize.
