RHC-NIA Medical Assistant I

JOB SUMMARY :

The Medical Assistant (MA) functions under the Medical Direction of the Clinic Physicians and their designees, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Midwife, or Physician Assistants, to carry out direct patient service in the NIHD Clinics.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS :

1. Directly responsible to the RHC/NIA Managers or their designee.
2. The MA is directly supervised by the Clinic Physician or their designee (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife) for clinical practice
3. Works closely with District leadership and departments as well as internal and external customers.

OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS:

Works in the outpatient clinic setting. May be exposed to blood, body fluids, or tissues as well as patients in varying stages of infectious states.

1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
2. Minimum 1 year experience in the medical field
3. Must exhibit good communication and people skills, good judgment and decision making skills, positive attitude, flexibility, and good problem solving skills, good verbal enunciation, basic understanding of computers, conduct, appearance and work performance shall be of professional quality

Preferred:

1. Experience in clinical back office setting
2. Ability to speak read and write Spanish
