<b>Location:</b> <br>Altru Health System<br> <br>PO Box 6002Grand Forks, ND 58201<br> <br>Pay Range: $17.92 - $26.88<br> <br> <b>Summary:</b> <br>This position is Onsite in Devils Lake, ND<br> <br>The Revenue Cycle Associate is responsible for overseeing customer service functions, billing, and collections. The Associate arranges special payment options for self-pay patients, coordinates activities with other departments for efficient communication, and provides advisory services on billing and collection processes. The Associate acts as the primary contact for customers, clinical, and support staff, resolving problems related to insurance, coding, and billing. They develop and implement action plans to manage outstanding balances and assist patients with minimal or no insurance coverage. Additionally, the Associate serves as a liaison between patients, providers, and health plans, answers patient inquiries, updates insurance information, and ensures compliance with payer requirements. They stay current on system capabilities and insurance bulletins, work daily coverage update queues, and handle various other duties to support the department's needs.<br> <br> <b>Essential Job Functions:</b> <br> <br> <ul> <li>Arranges special payment options for Self-Pay patients when necessary.<br></li> <li>Oversees customer service functions, billing, and collection.<br></li> <li>Coordinates activities with other divisions and departments to ensure efficient communication and collaboration.<br></li> <li>Provides advisory services and recommendations on billing and collection processes.<br></li> <li>Acts as the primary contact for customers, clinical, and support staff via phone calls, e-mails, and written correspondence to resolve problems, concerns, insurance, coding, and billing questions.<br></li> <li>Evaluates, develops, and implements action plans to arrange payment of outstand balances. Resolves and documents all issues and concerns that are received. Assists guarantors who have minimal or no insurance coverage to determine a course of action to maximize prompt payment and minimize bad dept.<br></li> <li>Acts as a liaison between patients, providers, and health plans for problem resolution and information dissemination.<br></li> <li>Answers patient inquiries, both clinic and hospital accounts, and obtains Medicare secondary payer information. Handles all correspondence and questionnaires from patients.<br></li> <li>Obtains and keys information, which is a prerequisite to claim filing, makes any needed edit changes to the primary payer designation and completes these procedures prior to the release of any applicable holds. Reviews appropriate accounts to be placed on hold.<br></li> <li>Works coverage update work queues or retro adjudication work queues appropriately daily.
