The primary purpose is to carry out all restorative nursing program treatments as well as helping the socialservice director upload files and file paperwork, work every other weekend as an Activity Aide and as needed during the week. The Restorative Aide will be directed by the Director of Nursing and Administrator.

Must have valid STNA License.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily restorative nursing programs as directed by the Restorative Nurse and Director of Nursing.
  • Transport residents to the dining room for restorative feed program.
  • Assist in recording the work and attendance records of residents receiving restorative nursing care.
  • Responsible for ensuring all residents have shirt protectors on while in the dining room and off upon leaving the dining room.
  • Ensure residents receive the correct food and drink and not having problems eating or drinking.
  • Responsible for taking off resident restraints while in dining room and replacing them upon leaving the dining room.
  • Responsible for the placing of splints on residents at designated times.
  • Assist residents on and off school buses and ensuring all needed items are present with the resident including full 02 tanks.
  • Ensure all alarms are operable including WanderGuard alarms.
  • Ensure resident have proper foot attire for walking.
  • Perform restorative programs in resident's room, if necessary.
  • Ensure new residents receive appropriate paperwork from therapy and restorative departments.
  • Answer all call lights.
  • Assist on floor, if necessary.
  • Ensure all residents are measured quarterly.
  • Report and chart resident refusals to participate in program.
  • Report any changes in the resident to Restorative Nurse and DON.
