Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a key member of the healthcare team, this individual will be responsible for coordinating and delivering respiratory care services to patients with a range of respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure, to determine the need for respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy, to patients with respiratory conditions.
  • Assist with the placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation as needed.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers of any unintended responses.
  • Assist with the transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required, with BCLS Instructor certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • An Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate in Respiratory Therapy is required, with State Registered Respiratory Therapist or State Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician certification also required.
