Summary

The Senior Manager - Freight Forwarding Operations Administration position is responsible for both the strategic and operational managing for defined logistics field within the automotive supply chain including GUS warehouse in Belleville, MI & Fairburn, GA.

Responsibilities
  • Primary
    • Strategically plan and manage logistics and supply chain management services in 2 location (MI, GA)
    • Develop new business with organization management focused on W&D area
    • Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle with JIT/JIS
    • Organize necessary customer services including warehousing, freight forwarding, and transportation
    • Work proactively with various departments to realize efficiencies and to meet expectations
    • Supervise, coach, and train workforce and contractors
    • Continuously look for improvements to operations
    • Comply with laws, regulations and quality requirements
    • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
    • Report market analysis and sales plan to company's leadership
  • Secondary
    • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, and carriers
    • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
    • Keep track of quality, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
    • Arrange warehouse, ocean freight, plan routes, and process shipments
    • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • Tertiary
    • Manage invoicing process and AR/AP
    • Process/approve SAP/GWMS/GTMS
    • Maintain accounting balance current

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications
  • Record of successful distribution and logistics management, and demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff required
  • Knowledge of WMS, TMS, GM SupplyPower, FCA eSupplierConnect, GM CCA, MOPAR, and IATF 16949 required
  • Problem solving skills, organizational skills, ability to work independently and handle multiple projects preferred
  • Having strong communication skills to manage the internal department and external customers preferred
  • Strong leadership talent, interpersonal and organizational skills required
  • Good commercial and business understanding required
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 8 - 12 Years of Experience in Logistics Required
    • 10 - 15 Years of Experience Preferred
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management & Automotive Preferred
  • 4 - 7 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
    • 7 - 10+ Years of Supervisory Experience Preferred
