The Waterblaster Operator will be responsible for operating the truck to provide surface preparation on various roadways and surfaces as needed, across the state of Florida. A valid CDL class B, and registration with the Federal Motor Carrier Clearinghouse is required to be eligible for this posting.

This position requires adherence to all applicable local, state, federal laws and regulations, Acme's company policy and safety procedures.

The position includes, but is not limited the following duties, which may be expanded upon by management to suite the job as required:
  • Operate the waterblaster to achieve desired surface preparation or removal without damaging the existing surface.
  • Follow all applicable electronic logging for hours of service per FMCSA
  • Complete all pre and post trip driver vehicle inspection items, as well as inspection of specific waterblasting components.
  • Loading and unloading water and waste water from contractor's assigned location.
  • Log any items due for routine maintenance, and replace any wear parts per shift.
  • Strict adherence to Acme Barricade's, and the local contractor's PPE policy.
  • Reading standard roadway striping plans to determine work under direction of the general contractor.
  • Walking and sitting for extended lengths of time as needed to perform the project.
  • Completing daily shift paperwork as required by management and contractor.
Desired Education and Experience :
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CDL Class B or higher with Tanker endorsement.
  • Multiple years of relevant experience operating waterblasting equipment.
  • MOT Advanced certifications

Requirements
  • Must be a self-starter and capable of interacting with the customer to determine work needed.
  • A great deal of mechanical aptitude, including, but not limited to, operating hand tools to maintain the waterblaster.
  • Be able to handle manipulating light to heavy loads as required on site.
  • Being able to travel out of town with over night stays as required.
  • Flexible in schedule, this position will primarily be nightwork, but will work as assigned.
  • Conversational fluent in English, with ability to converse via written language.
  • Comfortable around vehicles moving throughout work zones and maintaining awareness of surroundings, including placement of machinery, other employees and construction activities.
  • Vision sufficient to see moving vehicles, read plans, instructions, manuals, and reports.
  • Hearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, commands at a distance, instructions/conversations in person and over the telephone.
  • Valid CDL and passing a MVR and controlled substance test. May require background and criminal record check. Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
