Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess a diverse skill set to provide comprehensive medical services including advanced experience with the neurological conditions and diseases. Performs comprehensive and interval history and physical exams of patients with acute and chronic neurological problems. Identifies differential diagnoses, assesses the severity of the patient's illness and establishes priorities of care for the presenting problem Assists in the development of a treatment plan and appropriate follow up care Communicates pertinent patient information to the covering physician Educates the patient about the diagnosis and treatment plan Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests Obtains informed consent for all procedures Exercises prescriptive authority as outlined in Florida statutes Documents patient visit appropriately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and/or according to the guidelines established by each individual location in which the care is provided Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPPA requirements Keeps current on new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or other training and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Demonstrated record of consistently achieving clinical performance metrics in current role Strong Critical Thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure Must be caring and empathetic and have great listening skills Must be detail-oriented, and able to pay close attention to patient charts, medications, and follow-up on details of patient care EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA: Current Nurse Practitioner Certification in the State of practice required Board certification by AANP or ANCC is preferred but may be required for certain States Current DEA number from the DEA for schedule II-V controlled substances may be required based on State of practice A minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion Trinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation.
