Technician Drivers are the backbone of all ECC industrial operations and the driving force behind our commitment to the environment and local communities. Commercial driving is mostly local and may include operation of vacuum trucks, tankers, box trucks, stake bed trucks, etc. Driving only accounts for 25% of your time with material handling and industrial services operations being the primary function of this position.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities May Included:
  • Drive and operate light and heavy commercial vehicles and equipment; trucks, fork lifts, plows, pumps, etc. to perform environmental and industrial services
  • Load, unload, secure, and transport cargo
  • Inspect, handle, and containerize hazardous waste and materials
  • Inspect containers and collection areas for compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Perform routine daily vehicle and equipment inspections
  • Maintain and clean industrial systems; oil water separators, etc.
  • Spill response, remediation, and clean-up activities
  • Sample water, waste, and soil to determine characteristics and contamination
  • General warehouse operations, labor, and housekeeping
  • Pump fluids and other materials
  • Data entry and record keeping
  • Follow safety program requirements as priority one; always acting in a safe manner
  • Provide excellent customer service and client relations
  • Be a kind and respectful teammate
  • Abide by company drug-free policy including recreational and medicinal marijuana
  • Accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities

Qualifications:
  • Commercial driver's license (CDL) with hazmat, tank, and air brakes endorsements and a clean driving record
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience working with hazardous waste is a plus
  • Experience operating a vac truck highly desired
  • Possess or obtain a 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification prior to 1st day (we can assist)
  • Pass pre-employment DOT drug screening including marijuana
  • Ability to pass a government background check for military installation access
  • Ability to pass occupational and DOT physicals
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Have a positive attitude, Integrity, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
  • General computer skills

Salary Description

$24-$29/Hour
