<strong>Relay &amp; Meter Technician<br />Advanced Apprentice</strong> <br /> <br /> <strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong> <br /> <ul><li> Install and maintain relay protection and control systems. </li> <li> Provide technical support to internal/external departments and customers. </li> <li> Provide relay system reliability, integrity, and security. </li> </ul> <br /> <strong>REQUIRED EDUCATION:</strong> <br /> <ul><li> Two-year technical college degree (or higher) with course work in electronics/electrical technologies and microprocessors. </li> </ul> <br /> <strong>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:</strong> <br /> <br /> <b>Advanced Apprentice Level: </b> <br /> <ul><li> One year or more of direct job-related experience. <ul><li> Related experience will include: <ul><li> Maintenance electrical work with a strong background in the following: electrical control circuits, instrumentation control circuitry, motor controls, PLCs, and print reading in an industrial environment. </li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <br /> <b>OR</b> <br /> <ul><li> <ul><li> <ul><li> Job-related experience as a Relay &amp; Meter Technician. </li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <br /> <strong> *Level to be determined based on experience and qualifications* </strong> <br /> <br /> <strong>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong> <br /> <ul><li> Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. </li> <li> This position will report regularly in person to Coleraine, MN. </li> <li> This Position is subject to NERC CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation – Critical Infrastructure Protection) standards. </li> <li> Occasional out-of-town work and after hours call-outs will be required. </li> <li> Successful candidate will be required to complete an apprenticeship program. </li> <li> Requires good communication skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships. </li> <li> This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.</li> </ul> <br /> <strong> This applicant pool may be used to fill additional openings within 120 days of the posting close date. </strong> <br /> <br /> Employer will not sponsor Visas for position. <br /> <br /> External applicants must apply online via www.allete.com/careers. <br /> <br /> ALLETE is an equal opportunity employer.
