Registration and Records Specialist Full-time, 12-month status, Exempt

Capitol Technology is a small, private, non-profit, university in South Laurel, Maryland with approximately 800 students and a dedicated full-time staff of 75.

Location: On-site

DESCRIPTION:

The Registration and Records Specialist assists with registration and the maintenance of student

records. The Registration and Records Specialist reports to the Associate Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Respond to inquiries from campus community via phone and email

• Process enrollment verifications, loan deferments and education record release requests

• Maintain physical and electronic student files

• Process new student enrollment procedures

• Process grade changes, enter grades in military portals and send faculty grade submission

reminders

• Process all registration forms, Leave of Absence forms and visa letter requests

• Process all transcript requests and digitize archived transcripts

• Process personal information updates

• Input textbook information for scheduled courses each semester

• Adhere to FERPA regulations regarding all information whether written or verbal

• Support the Registration and Records in executing annual commencement ceremony

• Assist with special projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma (Associate’s degree preferred)

• Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team by developing relationships

• Excellent written/oral communication skills

• Demonstrated track record with respect to detail orientation and accuracy

• Computer literacy

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Effective communication, time management, customer service, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to lead multiple long- and short-term projects simultaneously, meeting all related

deadlines; ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work; ability to work

• Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively

work with a variety of people and personalities; ability to communicate clearly in person and in

writing
