As a Registered Nurse, you will administer, monitor, and document chemotherapy and other infusion treatments for our patients according to treatment plans ordered by our oncology and hematology providers. Here's what might happen on a typical day… Being an infusion nurse is a unique role that is both challenging and rewarding. You are our patients' hero that walks with them through their journey. The patients look to you for education on their treatment, as well as emotional support. Because of the hours these patients spend in our infusion rooms, our nurses become like family. You become their champion. We understand the amount of work required to learn and keep up with the different types of treatments. We recognize how your attention to detail and compassionate care are vital to the health of our patients. It would be best if you thrive in a fast pasted environment. In addition, you must have a passion for providing the level of service our patients deserve. Maintaining a patient-focused mindset is always the goal, and you do this well! Responsibilities Experiences that matter… * You have experience performing venipuncture and accessing ports to administer treatment to your patients. * If you have your Chemo-Immuno certification, you are ahead of the game. Of course, having your OCN is even better! But, don't worry if you don't; we will get you certified in Chemo-Immuno Administration within your first year. * In conversation with our patients, you will provide excellent customer service by rolling out the red carpet to meet their needs and make them feel as comfortable as possible during a challenging time in their lives. * Your in-depth knowledge of the many types of infection treatments available and willingness to stay current in these areas allows you to serve as a resource for patients and other clinical team members. * Experience with navigating Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA, and other safety guidelines will allow you to adapt to the workflow of this position quickly. * Communicating respectfully and promptly will keep all necessary team members on the same page to maintain the quality care of your patients. * Your go-getter work ethic will have you ready to jump in and help out with any additional tasks. Qualifications For your safety, keep this in mind: * This position will require standing and walking for extended periods. * Any lifting should be limited to 40 pounds or less. * You will need manual dexterity, proper hand-eye coordination, a full range of motion to assist with lifting patients, and corrected vision and hearing to normal range. We feel this position requires these basics: * We require a professional nursing degree; if you have a BSN degree, you are considered a preferred candidate. A Tennessee State Nursing licensure is also required. * Additionally, you must have a current BLS certification upon hire. * Lastly, we feel that you will be most successful with at least one year of prior nursing experience to provide you with the background needed for this position. Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Education/Training - Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements. Business Experience - 0-3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology Working Conditions: Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) - The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
