- Accurately assessing patients' conditions to prioritize care based on the level of their injuries or illnesses.
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and medication responses, making adjustments to guarantee their stability and recovery.
- Collaborate with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and support experts to coordinate medical care, communicate information, and give the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Offering emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during times of emergency and uncertainty.
- Accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes is essential for the continuation of care and legal considerations.
- Adhering to strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections in the dynamic and occasionally congested ER setting
- Must be updated with the latest medical innovations, techniques, and emergency protocols to deliver the best care possible in critical situations
- Valid New York Registered Nurse Licence
- A bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
- BLS and ACLS certification, particularly from the American Heart Association (AHA), is necessary.
- Additional certifications include certifications in Emergency Nursing (CEN) or Trauma Nursing (TNCC) to demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in emergency care.
