Job purpose

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for accounting, cash management, and financial reporting for metricaUSA. The position reports to the Controller for metricaUSA.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the recording of customer payments and making bank deposits.
  • Knowledge and maintenance of Accounts Payable, which includes data entry and review of outstanding bills, determining cash requirements and printing checks with the performance of such under direction of the Controller.
  • Accurately input financial data into Quickbooks Online.
  • Possess in depth and thorough knowledge and understanding of all project revenues and expenses, working closely with project managers to ensure project profit goals are met or exceeded.
  • Maintaining project related subcontractor cost tracking and job progress.
  • Keep thorough knowledge of all vendors and materials inventory.
  • Review and maintenance project estimates and purchase orders in company production database(s).
  • Ensure employee compliance with company travel policy, including travel reimbursement processes.
  • Frequent review company credit card access and transactions, maintaining proper expense support back-up and reducing fraud.
  • Complete timely invoicing to all customers and review Schedule of Value Reports which track project progress and performance of such under direction of the Controller.
  • Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Complete sales tax submissions.
  • Assist in IT support.

Perform review and analysis of special projects ,keep the leadership team updated.

  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers and clients while providing general support.

  • Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting including depreciation and amortization tracking. Work in coordination with tax advisor on annual tax submissions.

  • Work in collaboration with finance functions across both mUSA companies. ~~~~

  • Willingness to help as needed and to perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping
  • Knowledge of manufacturing is a plus
  • In depth knowledge of accounting and finance principles, procedures, and systems
  • Knowledge or ability to learn Quickbooks online, Innergy, MS Office, Excel, and Adobe
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to instill that focus in others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Can clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Working conditions

Full-time (40+ hours)

  • Work in office out of Northampton, MA
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Must be able to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Must be able to verbally communicate
  • Dexterity utilizing hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other business machines.
