Registered Nurse- Telemetry/PCU

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PCU (Progressive Care Unit) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team in Fort Walton Beach, CA. As a PCU RN, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients who require close monitoring and intermediate-level nursing care. Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' conditions, including monitoring vital signs, evaluating symptoms, and collecting relevant patient data.
2. Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and holistic patient care.
3. Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition. Recognize and respond to changes promptly, taking appropriate action.
4. Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosages and safe administration practices.
5. Education: Provide patient and family education regarding their conditions, treatments, and necessary lifestyle adjustments.
6. Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with the healthcare team, patients, and their families to ensure effective coordination of care.
7. Documentation: Accurately document all patient information, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
8. Safety: Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean patient environment. Promote a culture of safety among patients and staff.
9. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
10. Professional Development: Stay current with the latest advances in nursing practice and participate in ongoing education and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a progressive care or similar nursing role.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
