Corporate Sales and Development Officer

The Office of Institutional Advancement at High Point University seeks a full-time Corporate Sales and Development Officer to generate revenue from local businesses through sponsorships of annual University Events and HPU’s 17 NCAA Divison-1 athletic programs. This position will also be responsible for the growth and development of the High Point University Corporate Donor Annual Giving Program.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree required Experience and Training: Minimum 1-year successful sales and/or fundraising experience. Knowledge, Skills, Ability: Demonstrated leadership skills Ability to think/plan strategically. Enthusiasm for selling and fundraising in a university setting. Exceptional interpersonal skills. High energy, drive, integrity, sincerity. Competitive person who likes to achieve goals. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Ability to work efficiently on multiple assignments involving staff, faculty, volunteers and donors. Desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization. Must be able to perform tasks on own initiative. Willingness and ability to travel and manage working evenings, weekends, holidays and athletic events. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Builds and manages a portfolio of corporate donors and prospects in a disciplined and organized manner. Proactively identifies leadership gift benefactors among corporations, members of the greater High Point and Triad community and other sources. Plans and executes the University’s vendor and community enrichment philanthropic programs. Actively engages benefactors in the University’s activities. Cultivates athletic sponsorship opportunities by identifying prospective corporate sponsors for solicitation and cultivating existing relationships. Consults with the Senior Director of Athletic Development regarding strategy, development, and action plan for solicitation, closure and stewardship at all annual corporate giving and athletic sponsorship levels. Works collaboratively with the Manager of Panther Club Annual Giving and Season Tickets on the planning and execution of all Panther Club donor events, including sport-specific fundraisers and the annual Panther Club Golf Tournament. Embraces and articulates the mission and culture of High Point University. Possesses a working knowledge of the University’s programs and departments. Meets and exceeds mutually agreed upon goals for donor contacts, visits, proposals and closed gifts and sponsorships. ACCOUNTABILITY

: Set and meet goals and objectives for revenue generation. Be a great representative of HPU. No direct supervisory responsibilities. Reports to Senior Director of Athletic Development.
