  • BSN required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality and/or Research

  • MSN Degree
  • CITI Training

Certifications And Licenses Required

  • Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
  • BLS Certification
  • CITI training to be obtained
  • Certification in Quality and/or Research to be obtained

Scheduling Requirements

  • Day Shift 7a-4p
  • Monday Friday, no weekends, no holidays
  • Full Time 40 hours per week

Essential Functions

A Clinical Research Nurse are expected to function independently as a competent clinical research nurse, guidelines and regulations that govern the conduct of human subject s research. Demonstrates nursing skills as required under NJ state and federal regulations for RN licensure; clinical assessment skills related to Adverse Events collection and related management; ability to navigate patients successfully through course of trial participation. The registered nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available.

  • Adhere to clinical processes, procedures, programs, and corrective actions to maintain Quality Assurance at the site
  • Execute clinical trial activities in accordance with established research protocols and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate and perform duties for assigned clinical trials including but not limited to subject recruitment, participant visits, data collection, management and reporting of adverse events.
  • Adhere to good documentation practices when collecting, maintaining, and correcting study data and required records of clinical trial activity including but not limited to source documentation, case report forms, queries, drug dispensation records, and regulatory forms.
  • Assist with training staff (as delegated) in the conduct of clinical trials, protocol requirements, communication, and trial management skills
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers, leadership, study subjects, sponsors, and vendors
  • Order, receive, account for, and destroy supplies from local vendors and sponsors such as lab kits, ancillary supplies, and investigational products.
  • Maintains the standards of nursing care which are evidence based and outcome driven and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and Nursing Department, and are based on ethical principles which adhere to the ANA code of Ethics.
  • Utilizes the nursing process with a multidisciplinary approach in the delivery of patient care.
  • Performs assessment and reassessment of patients according to applicable department standards and identified codes.
  • Initiates/develops care plans and discharge plans in accordance with department standards and using appropriate tools, e.g., patient care pathways.
  • Triage patients and alert medical providers of any conditions that may need immediate attention, referral for emergency care and/or inpatient admission.
  • Sets goals and formulates appropriate multidisciplinary interventions to meet these goals.
  • Performs interventions in accordance with applicable policy and procedure, safety guidelines and infection- control principles.
  • Administer medications as ordered, documenting as per protocol, including evidence of sites, adverse reactions and side effects.
  • Maintains proper medication administration documentation including but not limited to the patient s medical records, declining inventory log, monthly inventory records, medication orders and returns.
  • Prepare and review patient s charts for completeness, obtaining current laboratory reports, and/or test results for review by providers.
  • Provide initial review of all incoming laboratory and tests results, alerting clinicians of critically labeled abnormalities as per policy.

Salary Range: $83,000 M inimum to $124,000 Maximum Annual Salary
