Job Summary
Supervises the performance of and provides preliminary interpretation of diagnostic cardiac exercise and pharmacologic stress testing according to department policies and procedures.
*Requires completion of department based cardiac stress testing/EKG interpretation training and supervised performance of 50 stress tests.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Understanding of stress testing protocols, identification of absolute and relative contraindications to stress testing and indications for early termination of testing.
Review and abstraction of patient medical records for risk assessment of testing.
Supervision of exercise and pharmacologic stress tests including preliminary test interpretation.
EKG monitoring and interpretation (12 leads and rhythm strips)
IV insertion
Qualifications Education:
Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN preferred.
Experience:
One (1) to two (2) years of critical care or cardiac experience required;
three (3) or more years preferred.
One (1) year clinical experience in stress testing preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration:
Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut;
BLS and ACLS required.
