POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a EEG Technician (SP). In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for routine EEG, simple studies and the associated administrative paperwork. Under close supervision of a physician or a more senior technologist may perform critical or complex studies for immediate diagnosis as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Cleans electrodes and maintains equipment.
  • Participates in conferences related to EEG in the department.
  • Reviews studies performed with supervising physician on a regular basis.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork for each patient including those required for department statistical and billing purposes. Ensure reports are accurate and prepared timely for the physician to review.
  • Collects information on the patient's history, current medications, and a description of current seizures for the technical report.
  • Performs routine EEG studies. Adheres to laboratory guidelines for impedance testing and montage selection.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify, you must have a High School Required. Current and valid BLS or CPR Certification required. ABRET (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoved Potential Technologists) EEG certification within 5 years of hire for all hires on or after 1/1/16 required. 3-5 years Performing routine EEG studies for all hires on or after 1/1/16. This requirement may be waived for any hires that have completed an accredited program as defined by ASET required. Strong communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, multitasking, and customer service skills Required. Proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office as well as a basic understanding of networking required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's Degree Preferred. Completion of an accredited program as defined by ASET (The Neurodiagnostic Society) preferred.
