Position Overview:

As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance activities within the organization. Your primary objective will be to ensure the efficient operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, develop preventive maintenance programs, and coordinate maintenance schedules to meet production targets and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

•Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians.

•Provide training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

•Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.

Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:

•Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment reliability and lifespan.

•Coordinate maintenance activities, including scheduled shutdowns, repairs, and equipment upgrades.

•Prioritize maintenance tasks based on criticality, resource availability, and production requirements.

Equipment and Facility Maintenance:

•Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.

•Coordinate repairs, troubleshooting, and troubleshooting activities to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

•Oversee the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of equipment and systems as needed.

Inventory and Spare Parts Management:

•Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance activities.

•Establish reorder levels, monitor stock levels, and coordinate procurement of spare parts and supplies as needed.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

•Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including labor, materials, and contractors.

•Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in maintenance operations.

Safety and Compliance:

•Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and procedures related to maintenance activities.

•Conduct risk assessments, implement safety measures, and promote a safe working environment for maintenance personnel.

•Collaborate with other departments, such as Health and Safety and Environmental, to address safety and compliance issues.

Documentation and Reporting:

•Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance logs.

•Prepare reports on maintenance performance, downtime analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.

Requirements

Education / Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CMRP, PMP) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of machinery, equipment, and systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team of maintenance professionals.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on proactive maintenance strategies and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance software systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for planning, scheduling, and tracking maintenance activities.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA), environmental regulations, and industry standards related to maintenance operations.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize maintenance performance.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed and respond to maintenance emergencies or production demands.

Additional Information:

•This position may require occasional travel to supplier sites, training seminars, or conferences.

•Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate maintenance activities during scheduled shutdowns or off-peak production periods.
