Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indirect Tax Specialist to join our tax team in Houston, Texas, supporting the Specialties business within SABIC. As a key member of our tax team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance on indirect tax matters, managing complex projects, and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

How You Can Be the Impact

Align with Senior Manager to prioritize and manage Indirect Tax projects in multiple jurisdictions, including the US, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico.
Utilize your in-depth knowledge of indirect tax to provide timely advice to corporate finance and business stakeholders, solving complex technical, managerial, and stakeholder problems that impact the business globally.
Work directly with third-party firms to ensure timely and accurate tax filings, delivering value to the team.
Manage indirect taxes for foreign jurisdictions, including US Sales and Use Tax, Mexican VAT, Brazilian Indirect Tax, and Canadian GST/HST/QST.

What Matters to SABIC

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or JD a plus).
7+ years of relevant indirect tax and related business experience.
Detailed working knowledge of US Indirect Tax.
Experience with indirect tax in jurisdictions outside of the US (a plus).
Strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and attention to detail.
Ability to adapt communication style depending on the situation (upper management, outside counsel, or business stakeholders).
Experience working with tax authorities and tax technology/tax engines is a plus.

Work Availability
