We are seeking a full and part-time *Registered Nurses *to join our *Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology Labs* at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. You’ll assist physicians performing cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology procedures, as well as assess and monitor patient status pre- and post-procedure. The schedule for this role is 35 hours per week for Cardiac Cath with on-call responsibilities with 30-minute response time and 30 hours per week for Electrophysiology.



*Responsibilities*:

· Set up laboratory prior to procedure

· Review patient medical records and prep patient

· Maintain sterile field and monitor patient status during procedures, including EKG and pressure on oscilloscope

· Assist the physician throughout the procedure, including administering medication, injecting coronary arteries with contrast media, handling catheters and guide wires, flushing and removing intravascular catheters and drawing arterial and venous blood samples

· Participate in emergency procedures, including CPR, establishing airways, administering medications and defibrillating patients as necessary

· Apply dressings and continue to observe patient for post-operative complications

· Arrange for the discharge and transfer of the patient, communicating patient status to the receiving unit

· May perform some duties of a Technologist, including operating contrast injectors, cardiac output computers, pacemaker testers and cameras



*Qualifications*:

· 3-5 years of registered nursing experience, preferably in an Intensive Care or Cath/EP Lab setting

· Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and current Rhode Island licensure

· BLS and ACLS certifications

· Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and work as part of a team
