ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties or task may be requested or assigned by immediate supervisor, his/her designee, or other management/supervisor.
- Facilitates throughput through the ED to the medical surgical units
- Completes admission assessment and initiates care orders as appropriate
- Facilitates discharge as ordered by the physician
- Provides focused patient instruction and education
- Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
