Maintenance Technician

JOB TITLE : Maintenance Technician
POSITION TYPE : Full time
CLASSIFICATION : Non-Exempt

STARTING PAY RATE:$27.91/hr
Shift premium: $1.25/hr for any hours worked between 5pm-5am

2nd shift schedule now available: 3PM-11PM
Rotating weekends and some holidays required

We make Wisconsin Cheese for some of the world's most recognized brands. Our dynamic team in Clayton produces made-to-order, customized blends of Wisconsin cheese for food service and food processing applications. High-quality Provolone, Mozzarella, and whey products are our specialties in Clayton.

The hours worked for this maintenance position will be the 3p-11p shift. Hours may be adjusted according to production and maintenance needs. The individual will be expected to cover some weekend shifts and will be required to perform emergency work outside of normally scheduled hours, as needed.

JOB DUTIES:

As a Maintenance Technician in Clayton, you'll be responsible for keeping manufacturing equipment in top working condition. Typical duties include:

• Install motors and pumps
• Weld stainless steel
• Maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment
• Operate boilers
• Conduct preventative maintenance and electrical troubleshooting
• Work with pneumatics, instrumentation, HVAC and more

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18+ years old
• Must be able to pass a general maintenance exam
• Willing to use a forklift and scissor lift (training is provided)
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Pay is based on prior experience: food processing experience or experience maintaining manufacturing equipment preferred, not required
• Electro-Mechanical Technology degree or related education or experience preferred
• Experience with ammonia systems, welding, boilers, cooling towers, pumps and motors, electrical troubleshooting
• Able to read and understand standard operating procedures written in English
