Job Title: Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R)

The RT is a Radiologic Technologist responsible for the performance of radiologic procedures and studies while helping to maintain and manage all Radiographic Equipment. The RT will work closely with all clinical team members in this unique role. The RT will be provided with the education to complete all of the shared responsibilities and clinical tasks such as triage, testing, procedures, and other patient care within their scope of practice.

Radiology Responsibilities

Radiologic duties listed but not limited to:
Prepare and perform radiologic procedures following CMD and ARRT protocols and procedures
Utilize all radiation protection and shielding equipment following ALARA principles
Document completed radiographic studies in EMR and PACS
Navigate PACS system: confirm studies for interpretation, send studies to outside facilities, communicate with radiologists and clarify discrepancies with teleradiology
Ensure radiology equipment is in working order, notify management and call service when needed
Utilize a variety of radiographic equipment efficiently
Stock radiology supplies and note supplies that need re-order
Precept students and staff members in applicable clinics

Clinic Responsibilities

Assist with other clinic functions as outlined below in order to ensure superior customer satisfaction and operation:
Patient triage, to include but not limited to: vital signs; medical history; observational examination
Assist with any and all patient exams, testing and procedures under the direction of the provider (i.e. I&Ds, pelvic exams, splinting, casting, joint injection preparation, etc.)
Assist with the following testing & procedures:

1. Vision testing

2. Hearing/audiometry testing

3. Urine drug screen testing

4. Breath alcohol testing

5. Lift testing

6. Peak flow testing

7. Pulmonary function testing (spirometry)

8. Impact Testing

9. Ear Irrigation (added to MD questions list - likely removing)

10. Eye wash flushing

11. Wound soaking & cleansing

12. Point of care testing: Strep, FLU, RSV, SARs-CoV-2, Capillary Glucose, Mono, HCG, Urinalysis, FOBT/Guaiac, Lipid Panel (obtained via CardioChek Analyzer).

13.Sterile technique in wound care management, dressing application, trauma patients, burn care and instrument cleaning and sterilization

Blood draw/phlebotomy; proof of certification & CMD Phlebotomy sign off required.Chemistry & CBC (with prior phlebotomy training)
Insert & monitor peripheral venous access if accredited/board approved IV therapy course has been completed
Cardiac Management through application of 12 Lead ECG (after trained & demonstration of competency via new hire competency checklist), CPR-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and defibrillation by AED; ventilation with AMBU bag
Prepare PD-Rx medications for dispensing by appropriate team member (ME & NH)
Administration of hot & cold packs
Telephone communication to include but not limited to verification & clarification of outside radiology orders & requests for copies of radiographs taken at CMD.
Ensures operation of clinical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs or reporting repair needs to clinic PM
Assists in maintaining adequate clinical & radiologic supplies inventory by checking & notating when stock levels are low
Keeps work area and exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly
Maintains accurate, complete records & reports
Documents patient education and care in EMR and all other applicable areas
Interact with patients in a positive and helpful manner, provide information and assistance as needed
Maintains confidentiality with all patient information by upholding HIPAA laws and rules
Complies with all ConvenientMD policies, protocols & procedures
Other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

Three years of radiologic experience preferred
Current state licensure
ARRT certification
AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification Preferred; American Red Cross BLS Certification Accepted
Must be able to work 12hr shifts and weekends
