Your role at Clorox:

The Clorox Company Internship Program is a 10-week summer experience that runs from June through August. Interns are provided meaningful work assignments designed to provide perspective and practical work experience highlighting what you would do in a similar role following completion of your degree and working at the company on a regular, full-time basis. Through the course of the summer, interns participate in:

• Formal, 3-day orientation & program kick off in California with interns from all functions

• Peer-level mentorship and connection points with functional and company executives

• Personal project to be presented to leadership team their last week

• Participate in function socials and professional development

In this role, you will:

The Research and Development organization is embedded within each of our Clorox business, taking new generations of consumer products from concept to reality. With such diverse roles as engineers, scientists, mechanical designers and packaging experts, R&D is a community of technical leaders and managers actively involved in virtually every step in the lifecycle of our products, from initial concept to raw materials to final goods on store shelves. R&D is committed to leveraging the latest technology to bring consumers the high-quality, innovative products they expect and deserve.

In this role, you will:

We offer an exciting internship that provides our interns the opportunity to be leaders in the development and/or refinement of our products. Interns will actively utilize our state-of-the-art laboratories and pilot plants to work on fast paced, hands-on, and technically stimulating projects. These projects will help our interns develop communication skills, learn how to optimize experiments, collect data, perform statistical analysis, draw conclusions and make recommendations on next steps, all of which are valuable for the consumer products industry and research in any field.

  • Engineers are needed to work in product, packaging, and process development, which involves understanding consumer needs, investigating future technologies, and designing and developing functional and cost-effective solutions across all of Clorox's brands.

  • This would include consumer testing, mechanical and chemical performance testing and package component qualifications both in laboratory, pilot plant, and manufacturing plants.

Recent Summer Intern Projects:

  • New formulation development and formula scale-up of cleaning products

  • Non-wovens (wipes) handling and converting for exploratory projects

  • Equipment optimization and new process development for salad dressings and sauces

What we look for:

Majors:

  • B.S. Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, BioEngineering, Materials Science Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

Requirements:

  • Graduating between December 2025 and August 2026

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Ability to work in a lab with various materials, including dust

  • Ability to use a computer in an office environment

  • Fine motor skills to prototype samples

  • Offers of employment are contingent upon proof of the applicant’s legal right to work and be employed in the United States as a full time employee after graduation.

Additional Information

The applicable pay range for this role in the U.S. is based on your work location according to the cost of labor in your area.

*$22 - $28/hr
