Job Description Job Description Title: Quality Technician – Level I Responsible for supporting the quality function Essential Duties and Responsibilities Includes the following :
  • Perform inspection/testing (e.g. First Articles, customer returns, incoming inspection, supplier issues) using gages including; micrometers, calipers, protractors and various other gages/fixtures
  • Read and interpret drawings
  • Assist with Document Control efforts (e.g., documentation updates)
  • Support the Control of Nonconforming Product process by ensuring appropriate segregation, identification and disposition of such product and entering information into the Nonconformance Log.
  • Assist with problem identification, investigation and resolution
  • Assist with complaints (e.g., supplier, customer and internal) including entering information into complaint system database
  • Advise, train and support operators with the quality processes
  • Perform product audit production/inspection
  • Perform out-going dock audits of finished goods
  • Assist incoming inspection for raw material and outside processing product
  • Maintain records per Business Management System requirements
  • Additional duties, as assigned

Education and/or Experience: High School/GED equivalent; 2 plus years in the quality assurance field. These are minimum requirements. Additional education or training preferred in the area of quality. ASQ certificates desirable. Skills: Basic math skills Blueprint reading Ability to use measuring and test equipment (calipers, micrometers, protractors etc.) Basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel) Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit. The employee is regularly required to use hands to feel or handle tools, objects and controls. The employee is rarely required to lift or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment : The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is rarely exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
