Benchmark is responsible for eliminating or reducing damages to underground utilities during any kind of excavation. Through the 811-call center, Benchmark locates underground facilities through established on-call contracts, and is responsible for marking gas, water, sewer, electric and fiber lines.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for the daily operations by creating and fostering relationships with clients, excavators, and our technicians.  Manage and motivate personnel to ensure that workloads are completed daily. Responsibilities of the position include the following and other duties may be assigned: 

  • Communicates expectations to field locate technicians to ensure timely completion of daily workloads.

  • Covers the district for Dominion and PIR

  • Provide supervision and allowance of time.

  • Ensure company standards and procedures are maintained and followed.

  • Work to reduce/control damages, and worker's comp / auto accidents.

  • Performs investigations as needed; damages, auto, etc. 

  • Ensure day-to-day compliance with state regulations and contractual obligations.

  • Resolve routine employee and customer issues and concerns.

  • Represent the company at various damage prevention forums.

  • Develop technicians and maintain morale.

  • Provide and supervise day to day load management activities

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 Requirements/ Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. 

  • BS/BA degree preferred.
