Position Summary
Responsible for inspection, verification and ensuring that products comply with quality standards. This position will work closely with all levels of plant supervision, customer service, and production operators to improve processes and procedures surrounding quality in the plant operations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Investigate, review and approve documents related to Quality Assurance complaints; internal and external
  • Enhance product Quality by assisting the Quality department with evaluation of returned product. This includes the identification and implementation of effective corrective/preventive action to prevent recurrence through the adherence of the ISO certification.
  • Review and approve SOPs, work instructions, forms and validation plans from other departments on behalf of Quality Assurance
  • Develop and implement processes, procedures, forms, work instructions and tools to monitor and improve Quality Assurance processes
  • Establishes a strong relationship with shop associates to perform quality checks as required
  • Performs inspection testing on finishing specs for identified products Prepare sample hose and perform UL testing required by the UL auditor each time LP Gas hose or Fire Extinguisher hose runs
  • Assists in maintaining up to date calibration of all gauges in the GageTrak system
  • Assists in the control and ordering of materials used in the department including but not limited to push on fittings, calibration stickers, OD tapes, and calipers
  • Complete first piece article testing and documentation as needed
  • Manage and disposition customer returns and internal quality on-hold products
  • Prepare certs for customers as requested
  • Help with ISO compliance, internal audits
  • Perform original property testing in the lab
  • Perform incoming inspection tests in lab
  • Perform any other duties required in lab
  • Perform monthly safety initiatives

Experience and Education Required
  • Associate Degree in Business, Engineering or a related field preferred
  • 2 years industrial manufacturing experience
  • Advanced skill with all MS Office products
  • Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated decision making and strategic planning skills
Physical Demands
  • The ability to use hand tools on a regular basis
  • The ability to climb up onto and down from equipment on a regular basis
  • The ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly on a regular basis
  • The ability to stand continuously on a regular basis
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • The ability to exert medium force occasionally up to 50 lbs., and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
  • The ability to work flexible and long hours
