Arconic is currently in search of a <strong>Quality Systems Specialist </strong>to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) business unit in Alcoa, TN. Arconic's Tennessee Operations is one of the most modern aluminum fabricating facilities in the world. Our plants produce high-quality molten metal and aluminum sheet and are recognized as a world leader in the business. The facility has been located at the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains for 100 years and continues to thrive and grow.<br><br><strong>Quality Systems Specialist</strong> will lead TN plant in effective implementation of the IATF16949 and ISO9001 Quality Systems, as well as supporting ISO 17025 and FDA compliance. This includes driving value from continuous improvement of the system and product, to reduce waste. Drive impact with measurable savings to ensure effectiveness in addition to meeting contractual requirements, with efficient processes in the path of work.</li><li>Drive recovery and process improvements through APQP leading to good flow path design and measured function.</li><li>Administer and Utilize 8D and other problem-solving methodologies such as FMEA, CP, FTA, Ishikawa, etc to continuously improve operations and product conformance. Monitor, analyze, improve, and react to defined quality precursors, and KPIs, including ppm, planned and unplanned recovery losses.</li><li>Strategically drive to meet Quality, Functionality, Integrity, Industry, and customer specific requirements and systems and product quality across TN manufacturing and support departments.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Arconic TN Quality Manual including Change Control, Document Control, Corrective Action, Internal Audit program, Measurement Assurance, Training, and Visual Process Management/Layered Process Audit as driver of continuous improvement and cost reduction.</li><li> Develop and coordinate relationships within Arconic and with outside technical bodies, benchmarking industries within aluminum or automotive production to drive continuous systems improvement.</li></ul><br><strong>Basic Qualifications </strong><br><ul><li>Minimum of Associates Degree with a focus on Metallurgy, Quality Systems, Statistics, or continuing education equivalent to Associates level.</li><li>7 years' experience in working with Quality Management Systems, Food Safety systems, preferably IATF 16949, ISO 9001.</li><li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.</li></ul><br><strong>Preferred Qualifications </strong><br><ul><li>BS in Quality Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or similar degree.</li><li>Certified Lead Auditor Certified for IATF16949</li><li>Experience (5-7 years) with metals manufacturing.</li><li>Project management capability and organizations skills to lead initiatives in Quality systems improvement with limited guidance.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills to motivate excellence through Quality Systems compliance. </li><li>Strong communications skills and ability to effectively communicate with floor operators, and mid-level to senior management, with both written and verbal English Language. </li></ul><br><strong>Minimum Travel Required: </strong>20% <br><br>Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for audit/benchmarking.
