SUMMARY We are looking for an experienced quality engineer to join our team at our Bayport, Minnesota facility, supporting the Andersen Aluminum product lines. Areas of focus include quality improvement, customer satisfaction, project support, and ensuring product conformance to specification and performance standards. You will collaborate with team members in operations, supply chain, quality, logistics, engineering, and other departments to persuasively sell continuous improvement ideas. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Possess the ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem-solving Owning the quality metrics of the responsible area Experience with PDCA, A3, DOE, 5-Why, Fish Bone Diagram, Lean Sigma, DMAIC, preferred but not required Expertise in both using and coaching others in approaches Strong knowledge of quality management and lean manufacturing principles Document control, product and process qualification, and audit processes Error Proofing, Eyes for Waste, Visual Management Ability to gather and analyze data through statistical techniques. Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards and convert them into manufacturing control plans and work instructions. Developing process validation plans and documenting results Approving engineering change requests or PLM’s Lead cross-functional team meetings, kaizen events, and value stream mapping sessions. Computer software tools, such as Excel or Minitab, can be used to analyze data and detect trends and abnormalities. Provides quality assurance support to ensure that the products produced are met with quality requirements defined by the company to both internal and external customers· QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS BS degree in Engineering or Technology A minimum of 3 years of quality work experience Knowledge of PFMEA, quality programs, SPC, process capability and lean manufacturing principles Working knowledge of measurement tools and systems NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS ASQ Certifications - ASQ CSSGB (Certified Six Sigma Green Belt), ASQ CSSBB (Certified Six Sigma Black Belt), ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) Functional AutoCAD skills and geometric tolerancing About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
