Staff Tax Accountant

As a Staff Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, preparing tax returns, and providing tax planning and advisory services to support the financial operations of our engineering company. You will work closely with the finance team, external tax advisors, and other departments to optimize our tax strategy and minimize tax liabilities while maintaining ethical and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and file various tax returns, including corporate income tax returns, sales tax returns, and other tax filings, ensuring compliance with state and local tax laws and regulations.
Assist in tax planning initiatives to optimize our tax strategy, minimize tax liabilities, and maximize tax incentives and credits.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations relevant to the engineering industry, conduct tax research, and provide guidance on tax implications for business decisions and transactions.
Prepare and review tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and tax accounting standards.
Assist in tax audits and inquiries by tax authorities, providing necessary documentation, responses, and support to ensure timely resolution.
Conduct periodic reviews of tax compliance processes and documentation to identify areas for improvement and ensure accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, legal, and engineering, to provide tax advice and support for business initiatives, projects, and transactions.
Provide tax advice and guidance on various business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, international tax issues, employee benefits, and incentive programs.
