Patient Access Specialist

Under the direction of the CHC Registration Manager, this position is responsible for handling incoming patient calls, providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and routing to designated staff as appropriate. Schedules appointments and completes referral process as instructed.

This is a remote position after training is complete. Training will take about three months.

Hourly Pay Rate: $17.54 - $25.87

Qualifications
Education:
Requires a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of one to two (1-2) years of general clerical, customer service or medical experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Prefer prior experience in a call center or experience with high volume patient contact through the use of phones.
Prior healthcare registration and or scheduling experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Prefer a detailed knowledge and understanding of DES/AHCCCS programs and eligibility factors.
Requires excellent data entry skills.
Basic math skills required.
Must be able to demonstrate interviewing and investigative techniques in order to obtain information that may not be offered.
Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
Critical thinking skills are strongly preferred.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Schedule: Regular FT 40 Hours Per Week, Days
