Project Leader / Main Delivery Owner – Mechatronics

Introduction to the Job

ASML, a market leader in semiconductor lithography equipment, is looking to fill the role of Project Leader/Main Delivery Owner (MDO) within the Mechatronics Department in Wilton, Connecticut. You will be responsible for team leadership, execution and reporting for the development and delivery of large, highly complex, mechatronic systems.

You will also be part of the larger Development and Engineering (DE) sector – where the design and engineering of ASML products happens.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Main Delivery Owner in Mechatronics, you will:

Lead multi-disciplined development team of ~10 engineers to ensure in-spec, on-time delivery
Define deliverables for mechanical, electrical, software, mechatronic and industrial engineers
Create detailed project plans (e.g. scheduling, resource, material requirements, etc.)
Delegate tasks and maintain accountability of team members
Communicate upward and downward on regular basis
Align and interface frequently with projects in the US, Netherlands and Taiwan
Align with cross-sectors on regular basis to ensure on-time delivery
Engage with Group Leaders to secure necessary resources
Escalate blocking issues for team through the proper paths
Manage system interdependencies and impact of changes on own module and whole machine
Develop impact statements due to resource reallocation and scope changes
Assess and address technical and operational risks based on input of architects and design engineers
Coordinate external suppliers and developers involved in product design
Some travel (up to 10%) within the US and internationally can be expected

Education and Experience

To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you will need experience working on high-tech products and with complex processes.

As a MDO, you will need:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or similar Engineering degree
2+ years or experience in a team leadership role
2+ years of engineering experience in a mechanical and/or mechatronics/robotics intensive environment
Previous experience within the semiconductor industry or precision engineering field preferred but not required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Good planning and analytical skills, ability to lead multifunctional teams
Proven success in team or task management
Able to “lead”, not just, “manage” a team
Takes initiative by showing strong ownership and commitment
Clear decision maker and well-organized
Ability to multitask and make quick priority calls on a daily basis

Other Information

This position is located on-site in Wilton, Connecticut. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation
A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to 2 days a week)

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.).
