ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Manager will provide front line production leadership to a manufacturing value stream team, utilizing lean strategies as the keystone of the daily activities required to deliver business results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement. This position will have direct reporting responsibility for a team consisting of Supervisors, Team Leads, Assemblers, and Welders.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide motivational leadership and communication to all team associates to ensure understanding and attainment of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and performance objectives and weekly shipments.
• Ensure daily delivery and productivity goals are met.
• Utilize, drive, and promote understanding of Lean tools and principles to ensure the delivery of business objectives and a culture of continuous improvement. Develop and implement kaizen plans, daily management, lean conversion, and countermeasures.
• Drive complete kanban conversion and maintenance as required to deliver on time delivery.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedure. Take active role in safety awareness and accident prevention.
• Provide training, coaching, and counseling as appropriate to team members.
• Ensure proper staffing levels, quality, and quantity, to meet customer requirements and achieve productivity targets.
• Manages staff selection, performance, development, and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing, Management, Supply Chain, Business or related field
• Will accept related experience w/some college in-lieu of completed degree.
• Lean certified or extensive lean experience/knowledge required.
• Production experience with proven results a must.
