It's designed to be used daily and turns something quotidian into an intentioned moment of self care - a source of everyday magic.The RoleYou will join a small but mighty team crafting our clean skincare products on site at our Hudson Valley workshop in Red Hook, NY. Our workshop runs like a kitchen. You will be responsible for handcrafting our product - working with food grade ingredients and utilizing baking equipment. This is a physical role. You desire to work for a locally-based startup creating innovative, good-for-you products that are sustainably designed.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for both the setup and operation of the production line to ensure daily production goals are metMonitor both equipment and material running through machinery to ensure quality and safety standards are adhered to; report any concerns to management in a timely mannerInspect all materials and finished goods to ensure products meet our quality standards; this may include scent testing and visually inspecting products as part of daily quality checksAdhere to all health and safety guidelines and utilize required safety gear when performing specific tasksEnsure both machinery and surrounding workspace are clean and orderlyAssist in simple machinery maintenance and upkeepAccurately monitor and record daily production output, including ingredient details, wastage, and QA rejects through paper logs or directly in the computer system, if applicableMonitor material availability to ensure daily production output can be achieved and communicate any issues to management Coordinate the change-over of the production line for daily SKU changes and/or ensure the line is properly prepped for close of businessPackaging products as neededPerform other duties as assignedQualifications Prior experience working in a kitchen, bakery or food manufacturing environment highly preferredAbility to operate machinery and utilize other food equipment, including knives, in a safe mannerAbility to work with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating strong attention to detailHighly collaborative with a willingness to tackle any task large or smallBasic computer skillsAbility to lift 35 pounds repeatedly and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reachAbility to stand/walk for up to 8 hours during shiftsFlexibility to meet shift changes as requiredPassion for our missionWhy You'll Love This JobEntry rate - $18/hourHealth, dental, vision benefits for full-time employeesPTOPaid Bank HolidaysPredictable working schedule, with daytime hours and limited to no weekendsAnniversary bonusEmployee discounts and free product budgetKate McLeod is committed to building a diverse team and fostering an inclusive culture.
