<b>Role Description</b> <br> <br> <b>Position Summary:</b> <br> <br>Coordinates, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots business operations objects which include and not limited to production machinery, utilities equipment, electrical systems at the Charles City, Iowa site.<br> <br>Incumbents are primarily responsible for performing skilled work in a specific area of expertise that may require special licenses, trainings and/or certification. Assignments may be to all maintenance area or restricted to a specific area. This level is distinguished from the lower levels Maintenance Technician in that the first have more years of experience and performs a variety of multi skilled field maintenance work. This position is capable of coordinating multiple work orders for EMU and the years of experience. This position is proficient in performing skilled work in three (3) or more disciplines such as mechanical, electrical and PLC.<br> <br>This position will be utilized to support capital project plans as well as maintenance electrical issues and small maintenance projects. The incumbent will be a liaison between production and engineering during projects to ensure that everyone's expectations are met.<br> <br>This position has the capability of taking on the lead role of any project.<br> <br> <b>Position Responsibilities:</b> <br> <br>The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:<br> <br>Customer Services<ul> <li>Provide maintenance support to location business areas in order to comply with applicable regulations, and improve objects efficiency, focusing on productivity while minimizing downtime.</li></ul>Regulatory Compliance & Recordkeeping<br> <ul> <li>Comply with all the applicable regulations such as: cGMP, OSHA, EPA, approved procedures and Quality and EHS Corporate Standards. </li> <li>Document preventive and corrective maintenance activities as per applicable procedures.</li></ul>Operations Management<ul> <li>Coordinates emergency work orders as well as planned and unplanned work for a specific area or the location as a whole.</li> <li>Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities depending upon area of assignment including performing basic trade activities.</li> <li>Perform scheduled preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities to plant machinery, equipment, instruments, and facilities infrastructure to increase machine up time.</li> <li>Performs troubleshooting and repairs to system controls, machinery and facilities infrastructure, among others, as applicable.</li> <li>Support the creation/modification of Preventive Maintenance Schedules for system controls, machinery and facilities infrastructure.</li> <li>Provide support to capital projects.</li> <li>Identify and implement object improvements.</li> <li>Expertise to read parts manuals, assembly instructions, troubleshooting guides, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics.</li> <li>Support RFT, TPM strategies and other change processes assigned.</li> <li>Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices excellent housekeeping in work area.</li> <li>Performs accuracy verifications on objects to ensure they are capable of producing to required specifications.</li> <li>Support set up process for production machinery.</li> <li>Proficient with diagnostic equipment.</li></ul> <br> <b>Education and Experience:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Associate/Technical Degree in Industrial Mechanic, Electronic, Electrical, Refrigeration, Tool and Die Maker, or Instrumentation. </li> <li>8 + years of assignment-related maintenance/equipment experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed in the essential functions or experience in at least 2 operational functions and intermediate knowledge in at least 2 operational functions.</li> <li>Trade/ Technical License when applicable by local or federal regulations is required.</li> <li>Must have strong technical/analytical skills and possess a high degree of personal motivation. </li> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact across divisional boundaries. </li></ul> <br> <b>Technical Skills Requirements</b> <br> <ul> <li>Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.</li> <li>Reading and understand blueprints, drawings, specifications and technical materials.</li> <li>Determining solutions.</li> <li>Making accurate arithmetic calculations.</li> <li>Expertise in maintenance on operating equipment, devices, and tools.</li> <li>Proficient with diagnostic equipment.</li> <li>Computer literate</li> <li>Language: English: Read (Intermediate); Write and Talk (Basic)</li> <li>Excellent troubleshooting, e.g., evaluating symptoms, and determining root causes.</li></ul> <br>Competencies<ul> <li>Focus on results.</li> <li>Working independently or in a team situation.</li> <li>Communication and effective interaction with co-workers, managers, subordinates and the general public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.</li> <li>Critical thinking ability associated with decisions on repairs verses replacing components.</li> <li>Understanding and following oral and written directions.</li> <li>Computer Literate - Word/Excel/Power Point</li> <li>High level operational skills in at least three (3) of the essential functions and intermediate skills in at least two (2) of the operational functions. Must possess high operational skill in PLC (Automation) Control as (1) of the (3) essential functions:</li> <li>Instrumentation and Electronics </li> <li>Mechanical (welder, machinist, tool & die maker, industrial, forklift)</li> <li>Rotating Equipment Maintenance </li> <li>Vessels and Mechanical Integrity </li> <li>Automation (Controls and PLCs)</li> <li>Electrical Systems</li> <li>HVAC/Refrigeration</li> <li>PdM</li></ul> <br> <b>Physical Requirements:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Must be able to walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time.</li> <li>Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently.</li> <li>Must be comfortable working in varying temperatures.</li> <li>Frequent lifting and carrying of 5 to 25 lbs.</li> <li>Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting.</li> <li>Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.</li> <li>Exposed to variant shifts and extended hours.
