We are seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our medical group at Forensic Services in St. Peter, MN.

Forensic Services physicians provide care to a diverse patient population living in a long-term residential facility in Minnesota. We have approximately 385 patients on site including a secure inpatient setting, a supervised residential setting, and a nursing home. The patients we care for have been court ordered for evaluation and treatment of their mental illness. Our patients stay with us for an extended period of time allowing for significant acute, chronic and preventative care experience.

At Forensics, a Primary Care Physician will:

  • Provide acute illness care in clinic or on living units.

  • Continue chronic disease care

  • Refer to outside specialists as needed

  • Provide preventative care based on current national guidelines

  • Provide phone call coverage on nights and weekends, rotating with partners

  • Collaborate with partner physicians and nurse practitioners on patient care

  • Collaborate with psychiatry providers and mental health team members to provide whole person care

  • Provide nursing home care

Minimum Qualifications

  • An active unrestricted State of Minnesota medical license, or ability to obtain a State of Minnesota medical license

  • Board eligibility or certification by the American Boards of Family Practice or Internal Medicine

  • Thorough knowledge of modern medical and psychiatric practice and delivery systems, especially related to the care and treatment of the populations served.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in an environment with adults with severe mental Illnesses.
