Summary

The Practical Nurse provides basic nursing care by assisting in the assessment of the resident on admission and on an ongoing basis. They participate in the care planning process, implement nursing interventions, administer medication and treatments, and effectively communicate with the interdisciplinary team. Additionally, the Practical Nurse is responsible for continuous learning and professional development.

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing resulting in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Current LPN license in the state of work
  • CPR and AED certification required, or willing to obtain within six months
  • IV certification required, or willing to obtain within six months
  • Preferably, experience in long-term care
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Physical capabilities for patient care and documentation
