Position Summary
Directs the management of of all functions of Office of Registrar to include state and federal compliance requirements, student records and staff who are responsible for complying with regulations and have specific job responsibilities as they relate to the Office of Registrars functions. Must be committed to serving a diverse college community. Actively participates in and contributes to continuous quality improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Federal compliance-FERPA
  • The Registrar is accountable for enrollment and degree compliance reporting.
  • The Registrar is functionally competent with the technologies by which the responsibilities of the office are executed.
  • The Registrar is AACRAO certified in federal compliance.
  • Manages staff, which includes prioritizing, and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures maintaining a healthy, and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Manages, and oversees the overall operations of Office of the Registrar which include planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings while ensuring compliance with college, state, and federal policies, and regulations.
  • Provides technical, and/or professional oversight, and leadership in the execution of program/project activities, as appropriate to program objectives, and areas of expertise.
  • Provides leadership in assessing services provided by the department including the development, and tracking of continuous quality improvement indicators.
  • Provides leadership to key strategic technology initiatives that support students including: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Degree Works
  • Manages departmental budget, manages contract, grant, and/or state funding resources allocated to the department; approve and monitor budget expenditures/revisions; coordinates, and/or assists with proposal writing to develop additional funding.
  • Builds, and maintains relationships with key internal, and external stakeholders to support the work of the department, and the college.
  • Works in cooperation with other departments and the community to enhance educational, and employment opportunities for students.
  • Supports the college's partnerships with other higher education institutions related to transfer.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Interpret an wide variety of data and instructions in written, oral, schedule, mathematical, or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Use computer software, and systems applicable to the position.

  • Compare data from a variety of sources for accuracy, and completeness.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and two (3) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which includes one (1) year in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • Required to complete AACRAO federal compliance certification in first (6) months
