Overview:

The Pharmacist-in-Charge (Bilingual in Spanish) manages the pharmacy staff, appropriately dispenses prescribed drugs, and serves patients with the best possible pharmaceutical care.

This is a full-time opportunity located at a new Avita Pharmacy (scheduled to open in early December) in Laredo, TX (6406 McPherson Rd) and the work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.

About the Role:

Manage the daily operations of the pharmacy, always maintaining the highest quality of pharmaceutical services
Foster business growth and control expenses for the pharmacy
Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy
Properly dispense, order, and maintain proper inventory of drugs and supplies
Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions
Direct and perform pharmacy activities and manage workflow efficiency
Keep abreast of changing laws, regulations, and new pharmacy-related programs
Consult with clinic providers, administrators, and other personnel as appropriate to provide quality patient care and efficient operations
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
Uphold a clean, customer-friendly workplace, and always project a positive attitude
Maintain a high level of professionalism consistent with company standards, including dress, personal appearance, and grooming
Perform other related duties as assigned
Perform in accordance with company policies and standards

About You:

Bachelor’s or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university
2+ years of full-time retail or clinic pharmacy experience preferred
Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) experience preferred
Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Texas
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
340B experience preferred
AAHIVP certification preferred
Excellent interpersonal, customer-service, managerial, and communication skills
Proactive self-starter with high degree of initiative and strong follow-up skills
Able to efficiently mentor, motivate, and manage pharmacy staff while fostering positive customer relations
