SCOPE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, the Pharmacist, Float is responsible for organizing pharmaceutical care for the purpose of achieving definite outcomes that improve a patient’s quality of life. The Pharmacist, Float will effectively communicate with patients, prescribers, nurses and other clinical staff members when responding to medication inquiries supporting all Signature Pharmacy locations. The Pharmacist, Float will collaborate extensively with clinical staff to provide safe and efficient patient care and will deliver exceptional customer service and positively impact the lives of others by ensuring accurate and timely completion of prescriptions and resolution of medication related inquiries while demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and security.

HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED

Perform all duties of a pharmacist, including but not limited to accurately preparing prescription orders by reviewing and assessing orders to identify, prevent and resolve drug related concerns at various Signature Health Pharmacy locations as scheduled by pharmacy scheduling coordinator(s).
Support Manager, Pharmacy in overseeing the daily operations of the Pharmacy team, including active engagement with each team member’s individual performance.
Adhere to all Signature Health policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
Participate in team meetings and process improvement initiatives to continuously evaluate work productivity, quality, and efficiency of the team.
Contribute to the training and development of all pharmacy staff.
Create an outstanding patient care experience by providing timely, accurate, and understandable pharmacy counseling and education to patients and staff.
Foster positive and professional relationships when communicating with other healthcare professionals and work collaboratively with the care team.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels, including oversight of ordering and receiving processes, and ongoing audits as needed
Identify improvement opportunities and offer solutions to drive growth, improve efficiencies, and advance patient care.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Valid unencumbered Registered Pharmacist (RPh) License in the state of Ohio required.
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pharmacy from a university accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy required; graduate degree such as MS, MBA, PharmD preferred.
3-5+ years’ of pharmacy experience in clinical setting required; 1 year as practicing licensed pharmacist preferred.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
