Assessment Analyst - Personal Property

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsible professional supervisory position requiring expertise and experience in assessment of personal property. Work requires evaluation of complex and unusual circumstances, variations in approach, and ability to work with available data in the field and in the office. The personal property assessment analyst reports directly to the Director of Assessment.

Duties of this position include the following:

Assist with staff training and quality control for business asset data Conduct property inspections and data entry information into the CAMA database; Review personal property abatement applications and make recommendations with appropriate documentation; Perform review of assets and values to ensure compliance with Department of Revenue requirements for personal property; Review Forms of List, noting type of business and personal property information and depreciation. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Experience in personal property appraisal or assessing data collection and value review. Computer proficiency in spreadsheet applications and Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal software. Experience in the Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal process or personal property form of list review required, working knowledge of the Vision Appraisal Technology is preferable. Must have good mathematical, communication and customer service skills. Must be able to work in the field that requires moderate effort to conduct inspections. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical ability to perform property inspections throughout the City of Cambridge. Work involves frequent site visits, requiring travelling to and through congested city streets, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching and stretching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work involved is both indoors in a professional office setting and outdoors inspecting property sites under all weather conditions.
