Do you miss the old days of kickball, playground tag, rainbow colored popsicles and having the bus windows down on a hot summer's day? We are recreating those days at the Primrose School of Broadview Heights this summer and you have the opportunity to apply at our school and become a Summer Camp Counselor! At our Primrose location in Broadview Heights we have developed one of the most fun and engaging summer camp experience for children in our community and we are now accepting applications for Summer Camp Teachers!

We are seeking TWO energetic Summer Camp Teachers to join our team of 31 employees and 5 mangers to execute one of the best summer camp experiences in Northern Ohio!! Our summer campers will attend two offsite field trips per week in addition to pre-planned, fun daily activates. Some field trips that the children will look forward to this year are the Great Lakes Science Center, Sky Zone, off-site culinary experiences, the Cleveland Zoo and a Indians (Guardians) Stadium Tour just to name a few. This is an EXCELLENT opportunity for college students on summer break or for teachers that are off for the summer! We provide all classroom supplies, activity planning time and a completed field trip schedule. We pride ourselves on SUPPORTING our teachers in the classroom, respecting employee schedules and providing a safe, inclusive work environment for everyone!!

Primary Responsibilities:

Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily group functions of a group of children (4 teachers for a group of 30 children)
Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Broadview Heights and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Broadview Heights Employee Handbook
Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.

Desired skills and experience:

Must have an outgoing personality, be creative and have boundless energy
Excellent communication skills and ability to speak professionally with parents
Previous experience at a elementary school, licensed summer camp or center/daycare school age program
Specific experience with children aged Kindergarten through 4th grade.
Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of school age children
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
Valid Ohio Drivers License and comfortable driving a 14 passenger van (with a co-teacher)
Degree or working towards a Degree; preferably in Early Childhood Education or Child Development-related field
Knowledgeable in elementary-aged curriculum
