Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care during operative and other invasive procedures
- Promote safe care for patients undergoing surgery as the RN Circulator
- Support the surgical team in maintaining sterility
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and identify their needs
- Review charts for completeness
- Adhere to health and safety standards
- Communicate with patients, teammates, and physicians
- Prepare the operating room for surgery
- Monitor patients' vital signs
- Adhere to safety standards and precautions
- Pass medical instruments to the surgeon during surgery
Qualifications
Required Credentials
- Licensed RN in the state of Connecticut
- Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years' experience as Operating Room Nurse
- Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- In-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures
- Team Player with excellent communication skills
Education
- Associate degree required, BSN preferred
