Job Summary:
Performs Cardiac Ultrasound procedures

• Complete duties according to the requirements of each procedure
• Assemble necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduling procedures
• Test and monitor equipment for proper working condition
• Accurately comprehend and interpret orders and direction
• Document records and other forms, accurately adhering to approved policies/procedures including required QC documentation.
• Confirm that all persons in the room maintain safety.
• Communicate information about the patient's status to other persons responsible for patient care
• Apply the prescribed procedures to competently perform Ultrasound technologist functions
• Follow principles of aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure
• Remain available during the procedure to provide timely responses to physician or patient needs
• Follow manufacturer's specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing ultrasound procedure
• Perform required maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment by adhering to cleaning care, storage, and calibration procedures as directed
• Handle equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety
• Maintain adequate supplies to provide immediate availability during the procedure
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements:

• Ultrasound Technologist Registered as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
