We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri area!  Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for an OB/GYN & Pediatric Registered Nurse Coordinator position for our Osage Beach Clinic!

Responsibilities: As designated by the Chief Nursing Officer within the bounds of the licensing authority.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Registered Nurse Common Job Responsibilities:


  • Assists the provider with procedures, examinations, and medication administration within scope of practice.
  • Documents patient care in the medical record completely and accurately.
    Initiates, reviews, and updates patient medication and summary lists according to provider preference.
  • Maintains venous access devices (ports) and administers IV push medications and flushes as ordered.
  • Performs point of care lab testing and obtains blood samples and other specimens for lab testing as ordered.
  • Provides patient teaching and supportive services as directed.
  • Adheres to all nursing and organizational policies and guidelines to ensure patients are cared for in an optimum clinical environment.
  • Appropriately delegates tasks based on skill level and knowledge.
  • Maintains current licensures for all licenses and remains up to date on any training necessary to complete job requirements.
  • Ensure a professional and personable persona that positively reflects the profession of nursing and the organization.


Pediatric Nurse Coordinator Job Responsibilities


  • Triage all emergent Pediatric phone calls.
  • Coordinate and create Pediatric education/training for COMC team members and patients.
  • Helps gather and provide data for any grants that support pediatric/adolescent health care.
    Integral part of creating and maintaining relationships between OB patients and pediatric care within the organization.
  • Coordinates meetings between pediatric provider and OB patients and assists with scheduling/creating team-based care coordination with OB patients.
  • Assists with implementation and training of CHADIS, or other identified programs, with team members that will utilize the program.
  • Collaborates with various health care providers across COMC to ensure that patients are effectively managed and that health care needs are met.
  • Responsible for tracking and follow-up of immunization rates for pediatric patients.
  • Assists with ensuring compliance with COMC VFC program.
  • Ensures timely referring of pediatric patients that are noted to have any developmental delays.


OB/GYN Nurse Coordinator Job Responsibilities


  • Triage all emergent OB/GYN phone calls.
  • Coordinate and create OB/GYN education/training for COMC team members and patients.
  • Helps gather and provide data for any grants that support OB/GYN health care.
  • Manage/oversee OB deliveries including checking EHR (Meditech, etc.) for deliveries reports and closing out OB delivery chart in eCW.
  • Manage/oversee all patients referred to OB/GYN provider – including scheduling surgeries, precertification of surgery, and scheduling pre-op/post-op appointments, etc.
  • Tracks and coordinates care for patients that need injections as well as those considered high-risk.
  • Acts as a liaison between patient and provider for prenatal, delivery, and surgical questions.
  • Schedules all inductions, C-sections, and GYN surgeries.
  • Responsible for weekly COMC OB report and tracking anticipated deliveries to the local hospital.
  • Performs NST’s on OB patients and trains clinical team members based on clinic policy and procedure.
  • Collaborates with various health care providers across COMC to ensure that patients are effectively managed and that health care needs are met.
  • Completes all required Notifications of Pregnancy.
  • Adheres to all nursing and organizational policies and guidelines to ensure patients are cared for in an optimum clinical environment.
  • Appropriately delegates tasks based on skill level and knowledge.
  • Maintains current licensures for all licenses and remains up to date on any training necessary to complete job requirements.
  • Ensure a professional and personable persona that positively reflects the profession of nursing and the organization.


Additional Responsibilities:


  • Complete trainings as required by the health center.
  • Attend staff meetings/in-services, read email and other postings.


Qualifications Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be CPR certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC. Must maintain CEUs as directed by COMC.


Education and/or experience: Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Missouri. Completion of the following: Associate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Proven decision-making skills. Proven career progression with positions of increased responsibility. Sound decision-making skills, drive, and desire to succeed.


Language Skills: Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.


Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight.


Travel Requirement: To fulfill the responsibility of the position travel to all COMC locations will be required. Employee must have valid Missouri driver’s license. Overnight travel may also be required in specific incidences of training, conferences, etc. All employees are expected to remain flexible to meet the needs of the organization, which may include floating to other departments to assist as the patient/staffing needs change.
