Registered Nurse - Emergency Room - Nights Job Description
As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best - providing quality care to our patients. We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department on the Night Shift (7p-7a). This is a fulltime position.
We are a Level IV Trauma Center with a Primary Stroke Center at the main campus in Cedar Park and a Free Standing Emergency Center in Leander providing faster access to emergency care in the local community. Both locations are available 24/7 with a staff of specialized Emergency Physicians and Registered Nurses along with onsite full-service labs, digital x-ray, CT scan, and ultrasound capabilities allowing us to provide a complete range of emergency diagnostic services.
Job Duties:
* Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care * Assists physicians during examinations and procedures * Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse * Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills * Relies on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks and accomplish goals
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred * Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire * Approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required within 90 days of hire. * TNCC required within one year of hire * A minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an acute care setting preferred * Charge experience a plus
