Additionally, as a key member of a high-performing team, you'll have ample opportunities to learn and grow, staying updated with the latest technologies and industry trends.Design, develop, build, and test new circuits to control instrument functions.Work with cross-functional teams to create & deploy new instrument systems, integrating electrical systems with mechanical systems and control software.Create schematics, drawings, and other design and maintain BOMs, ensuring sustainability and managing obsolescence of existing circuit boards and components.Troubleshoot instrumentation issues, including those reported from the field.Conduct thorough testing at board level, sub-system, and instrument levels, and support formal verification activities including certification testing.Follow software standards and procedures, creating documentation that meets quality procedures, regulations, and industry best practices.Comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies. Requirements B.S. in Electrical Engineering (M.S. preferred)0-3 years of experience for Engineer 1; 2-6 years of experience for Engineer 2. Preferably in life sciences or medical devices.Highly skilled in PCB design, including circuit modeling, schematic capture and board layout (Altium preferred). Ability to design efficient, robust, safe, and cost-effective instrument control circuitry, including data acquisition sensors/actuators, control, power supply and power electronics, high voltage, and communications (wireless, RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI, USB, LAN). Ability to manage BOMs.Solid understanding of electrical design principles, with hands-on skills to build and test prototypes using breadboards. Experience with laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, waveform generators, etc.). Strong problem-solving abilities.Familiar with international quality and safety regulations such as IEC 60601 and 61010.Experience with Unix/Linux, real-time OS, firmware, C/C++/C# programming is a plus, as well as experience with sustaining engineering and managing part obsolescence.Excellent team-building skills, encouraging communication and verbal and written communication, with robust organizational and time management skills.Ability to travel 10-15% domestically.Note: To the extent permissible under applicable law, candidates will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment.
