Supply Chain Analyst with an Inventory Systems Focus

Trench Shoring Company is hiring a Supply Chain Analyst with a strong focus on inventory systems. This is a newly created position, is a great opportunity for a candidate who is looking to help build an inventory and supply chain team. This role requires someone who is organized, detail oriented, and able to build relationships across the organization. The primary objective of this role will be to maintain adequate and accurate inventory levels to meet daily distribution demands, while minimizing excess supply and potential inventory loss. In this position, you will coordinate the tracking of inventory through the use of a computerized database system. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Knowledge of supply chain management, inventory movement, and production line fulfillment. * Ability to coordinate and encourage a team of designated branch inventory professionals. * Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including incoming orders, transfers and cycle counts. * Oversee inventory and supply chain management according to company guidelines. * Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner. * Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for inconsistencies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and inventory reports. * Audit the entire inventory on a regular basis and provide reports to management. * Develop and implement improvements to existing inventory operational procedures to maximize efficiency and cut operations costs. * Analyzes inventory levels, inventory positioning, planned production and schedules. Initiates immediate actions in out-of-stock situations. * Drive delivery of cycle count efforts, coordinate any physical inventory activities that may be required. * Coordinates efforts of inventory process to ensure transactions are accurate and ensure that the needs of the customers and internal departments are met in a timely manner. * Coordinate receiving process. Ensure employees are trained and following the process according to company guidelines. Nurture positive relationships with suppliers, internal customers and provide customer service as needed Qualifications * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Supply Chain Management or related field. * Possesses a genuine desire to work in inventory control, truly likes working within all aspects of inventory management and has a keen understanding of inventory process at all stages. * Must possess strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, as success in this position demands careful accounting of large amounts of inventory and keeping updated records so that accurate counts are accomplished. * Exhibits the ability to work well with others and maintain organization between cross-related departments. * Fully proficient in Microsoft Office tools, i.e. Word, Excel, and Access. ERP experience or equivalent with system such as SAP, Oracle or Sage. * Keeps up with changing technologies (computer software related to inventory management and control). * Prior experience in automating and adapting to changes in the selection, installation and implementation of new software related to inventory management would be highly desirable. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to address audiences at varying levels. * Physical ability to lift 10-25 pounds and sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl repeatedly.
